7 November 2015:Nassau Bahamas

Another nice day in the Bahamas,i seem to be getting lazy,did my gym workout and then got stuck on deck 11 at breakfast,so only decided to get off the ship at about 12.Then i was on a mission to find a jewellery shop that could change my watches batteries,i have two clocks/faces one for home time and the another one for hubbies time,was so glad when they sent me to a watchmaker and he could help me ,so now i am ticking again and on time!!! Then i was on a hunt for a lighthouse magnet that says Nassau Bahamas because that is the first thing you see when your sail into Nassau and the last thing you see when you leave.On my way to Duncan Donuts i walked into a street market type of church basaar en then it was straight to the books table ,so there i scratched through the books and left with a packet full for $3.50.At Duncan i was naughty and got stuck into a nice fresh donut and some coffee,its crazy outside is hellish hot and after you have been inside for a while you get goosebumps from the aircons,so that i why i decided on coffee.After a long time there there it was time to get back to my gaaitji and so off i went.Also stopped at the straw market and raak nou n regte toeris ,stry oor pryse maar daar weg met n sak vir $5 minder!! On my way to the ship i walked into a photoshoot for a bridal couple and their whole family who were also on our ship,a real festive affair.On leaving Nassau I was on deck 11 when i heard the ship honking its horn again and again only to discover that a catamaran was in its way and was not budging and just kept on its course also on its way to the deep sea,thank goodness it did get out of our way just in time.Late afternoon was a crazy time for the big ships left the harbour one after another. 8 November 2015: Great Stirup Cay (GSC)

Liefie het so gehoop hy hoef nie vandag op die eiland te gaan werk nie maar eks bevrees hulle het toe die groen lig gekry en soos die dag aangegaan het het die weer darem baie verbeter.Hy was vir die oggend alleen agv ander werksverplgtinge deur die ander mediese staf,so toe het ek hom geselskap gehou vir die oggend en hom natuurlik darem bederf deur kos aan te dra en lekker poeding!!Die middag is ek weer terug na my plek onder die palmboom en was nie lank nie toe is ek die water in,vandag het ek met my sloffies geswem want is al langs die rotse die see in!!Het ook by die stalletjies n draai gemaak waar locals van die ander eilande wat naby is, goed verkoop maar vir my duur.Sien uit na my bed vanaand en more sien ons die nuwe skip wat in Miami gedok gaan wees of ek hoop hy is nog in die hawe,The Escape.So tot more ,mooi bly

9 November 2015: Miami

This morning we docked in another place to make place for the new Norwegian Escape which is docked in our place.So i was not complaining for we are a lot closer to down town,just had to walk across the bridge.Decided to get out of my comfort zone and be brave!!! took the city transport to South Beach all on my own and i actually survived !!! Strolled all along the beachfront and think next week i am going to bring hubby for breakfast,just looked to nice seeing all these people enjoying their breakfast late morning along the beach.Went onto the beach again and must say is a very big area no wonder they have bikes and tractors patrolling the area,call the first area the Miami Beach Highway for thats where the vechiles bikes and runners are, then you get the soft sand where they have hundreds of umbrellas and beach chairs and shade covers that you can hire.There i did not last long for just to hot and went looking for shade.On my way down the street a guy in a beauty shop asks me where i am from,when i say South Africa he says,hoe gaan dit!!! wel that stopped me in my tracks,only to discover he was sent to South Africa to do training for his products and can you believe it was in Cape Town, J Bay,Seaview and  PE i could not believe it ,so out came the cellphone to show me,amazing,told me i should use serum around my eyes!! so off i went with my sample for my eyes!!!Then i made a stop in Starbucks just to download messages before i went to the nearest bustop to catch the bus back to Bayside,well what a ride,was the strangest busdriver,

bietjie wild na my smaak ,gewonder of ek in een stuk in Bayside gaan arriveer.en sommer kwaai met n arme ou man,hoot ook vir elke tweede kar,hoogs geirriteerd,maybe he was having a bad day,was very glad to see Bayview and when i could get off.In Bayview i bumped into 2 of the nurses before i headed back to the ship and then it was time for a long shower. Genadetjietog cant get use to this heat,so Durban wont be seeing me,hou maar eerder die wind!!With sailaway we are going to pass right next to the new big ship ,so i hope i can get a few nice pics.Poor hubby has had a hectic day with all sorts of inspections ,so in overdrive, alert,ready for action.Until tomorrow,bye.

10 November 2015: Freeport

Ons weer in Freeport vandag en ek het vroeg besluit gaan vandag net rustig wees en is eers vanoggend gym toe en toe lank op dek 11 vertoef met my selfoon tot na die drill,want vandag het hulle n groot drill gehad met skyn rook en al, reddingsbote in die water, so omtrent n ordeltelike oefening,dink almal in rep en roer,want dinge moet reg loop wat seker ook goed is want moet weet hoe ,wat en waar as dinge verkeerd gaan.Toe is dit tyd vir wasgoed doen in my piepklein badkamer maar amazing hoe jy besef dis al wat jy nodig het ,solank jy kan doen wat jy moet.Daarna was ek lus vir regpak en wraggies kan nie glo hoe baie gemors ek bymekaar maak in die kamer van ons nie,so asdrommetjie vol van onnodige papiere en rubbish en dit na 7weke!!Ek mos een van daardie wat alles neerskryf of teken so altyd n boekie,little black book!!Iemand gaan eendag lekker lag as hulle my goed deurgaan en kyk wat ek alles kwygeraak het en beplan het.Nou weer besig met my huis drome en beplanning,mos baie tyd ,so elke kamer en hoekie en kroekie,was aanvanklik baie onsteld dat ek nie geweet het hoe ek ons nuwe plekkie wil inrig nie maar besef nou dit vat maar tyd voor jy die gevoel kry en weet hoe en wat jy wil doen.Vat ook mos jare om die nuwe huisie en tuin  jou eie te maak en dit kom ook maar met tyd.Moet nou maar eers die goed in orde van belangrikheid aanpak so dinge gaan baie stadig gaan en moet wag en oooo ek is so goed met wag en geduld,alles moet mos gister gedoen gewees het maar nou ja behoort nou al ingebreek te wees met dit!!! so sit nou net met my drome en dis genoeg vir nou.Kan julle glo die 20ste Nov is dit presies 3 jaar gelede dat liefie matroos geword het,en soos hy vir my se, was dit vreemd in die begin maar het dadelik geweet het die regte besluit geneem, n wonderwerk en seen, waarvoor ons elke dag dankie se,want het die onmoontlike gedoen,so se vir die kinders ,alle nuwe dinge gewoonlik vreemd in die begin en moet jouself tyd gee om aan te pas maar jy weet gewoonlik dadelik ja die ding is vir jou of nee van die begin werk dit nie vir jou nie,so luister vir daardie stemmetjie!!!moet hom nie stil maak nie en dit kan jy maar deurtrek in alles in jou lewe.Luister vandag ook na huis musiek en ooooo is ook mooi.Volgende kontrak dalk Jamaica,Bahamas,Mexico,America en dan die beste, crossing na Europa!! maar het ook nou al geleer wag maar en sien nader aan die tyd wat opkom en vat dit soos dit kom,glo ons kom waar ons moet wees.Nou ja tot more ,mooi bly

11 November 2015 : Nassau

Today i decided to visit the Ardastra Gardens,Zoo& Conservation centre,so off i went with my map and backpack.Along the way i passed a fruit and veggie stall “Flos Fruit and Vegetables “that sells anything you can think off and has an old bus parked right next to it ,that they use as a storeroom!! but it not going anywhere soon!!! gedaan kaput!!There was a young couple also walking in the same direction i was going so assumed they were also on there way to the same place want my ogies ook maar groot because not to many people around and the area looks a bit dodgy.Had a lovely time and saw lots of animals,birds and the beautiful pink dancing flamingos,the park has this jungle feel to it,lots and lots of trees,vegetation and spider webs.Saw a beautiful green winged Macaw parrot and did not know they can live 60-80 years amazing.I was so disappointed but missed the dancing flamingo show but did not feel like waiting for 2 hours for the next one.When i left the park i pumped into a policeman and asked him for directions to the Fort Charlotte but did not feel very safe on my way there after he asked me am i traveling on my own and be careful!! so toe stap ek met n redelike spoed , net reg vir hol as ek moet!!! en om met my rugsak n lelike swaai te gee om dood te slaan,dink hy sal skade berokken want wragtig elke keer swaar gelaai met al my goeters.Well i survived the walk and made a visit to Fort Charlotte,only peeped from the top of the walls for had to pay another entrance fee.Then it was time to walk back and i decided wanted to go for a swim ,for the water was this beautiful colour again.Had a great time wallowing in the shallow water like a whale,and had to keep an eye on my bag!!After this i decided was time for the ship, so walked all along the sea and a storm was brewing in the background and did not want to be caught in that ,for here it rains pro-ply buckets full! Took a nice picture of the ocean and the dark clouds.Sometimes i wish that pictures could really catch the real image of the sky, it is really breathtaking with all its different views.Am thinking of bringing my big camera next time for i enjoy taking photographs,feels like telling stories about the place.
